what is post prom?

The Downingtown STEM Academy Class of 2024 will be celebrating their Prom on Saturday, May 17, 2024.  This year, the Downingtown STEM Academy Home and School Association is thrilled to continue our tradition of providing the senior class with an all-night event after Prom.  Post Prom is a drug and alcohol-free event that takes place at the school.

We all know that drinking and driving are unfortunately too often associated with Proms. Statistics show that school-hosted post proms reduce the number of of drug and alcohol related incidents on Prom night by more than half. To keep our Seniors safe and to give them an amazing experience we have been hard at work planning this year’s Post Prom. This event is from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. and is filled with food, music, prizes and activities.

STEM Post Prom is always a huge success and attracts close to 100% of the senior class; even students who do not attend the Prom come to Post Prom because they know that it will be a fun evening with their friends before graduation.

The theme of this year’s Post Prom is Out of this World, and the STEM Academy will be transformed into Outer Space Theme.  The Prom Prom Committee has been working hard to plan an unforgettable event for our seniors, complete with games, entertainment, prizes, food and dancing.  In order to make this happen, we rely on support from parent volunteers. We need your help to make this the most successful Post Prom yet!   Sign up here to volunteer!

The Post Prom is designed to keep our students safe by entertaining them through the morning hours with activities and food. In addition to food and fun, prizes are presented to students to help extend the fun of prom night, as well as to celebrate the culmination of their senior year. 

The Post-Prom Party is run solely off donations from parents and our community. We are reaching out for support from you to help us reach our goal to be able to provide each student who attends with a prize.

The Post Prom Committee is seeking monetary and gift card donations from local businesses and organizations to continue our tradition of providing the kids with an unforgettable Post Prom! 

Any donation of cash, gift cards or prizes are 100% tax-deductible and will solely benefit the students of Downingtown STEM Academy. For reporting purposes, our tax identification number is 45-2446765.
